The Nice Guy’s Guide to Meeting Ecuadorian Women

I originally wrote this article as a guide to meeting Ecuadorian women specifically in Quito, the high-altitude capital of Ecuador. But later, while traveling throughout this small country, I decided to include other cities. Let’s start with Quito.

Quito

Quito is not that touristic. But it’s still the most livable city in this country for young single travelers. While Cuenca is better suited for older expats.

Quito offers a few unusual attractions e.g. the Mitad del Mundo (“middle of the world”). However, this is not the real location of the equator line passing through Ecuador (they made miscalculations when building the monument). Thus I gave it a miss.

Ecuadorian voters wrecked their currency a couple of years ago through leftism and socialism. Luckily it didn’t turn out as bad as Venezuela since there isn’t as much oil. Thus, nowadays, the US dollar is the currency.

With regards to violent crime, Quito is relatively safe. However, petty crime, e.g. stealing your cellphone or wallet on the streets, is a serious risk to tourists.

Should you even visit Quito, and not simply go on straight to Galapagos, then exit Ecuador? Read on to find out.

Quito Daygame

Here and there you’ll find a hot hired gun in the Historic Center (“Centro Historico”). But this part of town can be boring with not much to see or do. A decent hostel to meet a cute girl or two, in this area, is Masaya.

In the modern and hip Mariscal neighborhood (including Plaza Foch), there are close to zero attractive girls to approach by day. You’ll very rarely walk into a tourist girl somewhere, e.g. at the Multicentro supermarket. But there were a few cute girls staying at El Hostelito hostel, close to this supermarket, with nice private pod-like dorm beds.

Floresta is relatively upmarket, with a few good restaurants, but there are not really any cute girls in the day either. Malls have the same problem.

In Quito, walk around as much as you can instead of only relying on taxis. It’s likely there may be a cute girl somewhere along the road. Otherwise, if you’re gonna travel by car, you may not find anyone to approach.

In the upmarket Quicentro mall, I saw a reasonably fit girl, started mumbling my opener, but I wasn’t attracted enough to prolong the conversation, so I ejected.

For me, Quito is the worst game capital city of South America.

Nightlife in Quito

Ecuador definitely doesn’t have much nightlife culture. However, at Mariscal, Quito’s main nightlife neighborhood (of which Plaza Foch is the center), you’ll find half-decent nightlife similar to e.g. Miraflores in Lima.

For seated pre-game, check out the expat bar: Finn McCools. It’s mostly small groups of expat guys and girls almost every day of the week (Sunday nights everything in Plaza Foch was dead). Yet on a rainy Thursday, it was empty – thus take the weather into account.

In specifically this and a few surrounding blocks, you find the upmarket bars. The most upmarket street in Mariscal is Joaquin Pinto (with e.g. Dirty Sanchez and Indie Beer bar) and to a lesser degree Diego de Almagro Street (with Finn McCool’s and Bungalow). Indie Beer bar had a cover charge of $5 during weekends. It’s smallish but looked like the second-best option after Bungalow for an upmarket crowd.

Bungalow 6 should be your first clubbing choice in this area. It’s three floors high, with a large percentage of expat customers. Entrance fee is $5 (with 1 drink included). Slightly similar to the ruin pubs in Eastern Europe, there are many different rooms both for dancing and a few for cuddling and making out with your girl.

Although I recommend Bungalow as the best gringo option, there were only a few attractive girls inside. The hot European tourist girls visited this club mostly with their tourist boyfriends and with guys from their hostels. The problem is that white girls are afraid to go to Plaza Foch on their own. Although it’s decent by Ecuadorian standards, there are sketchy dark alleys, a few vagrants, and drug dealers. For a man, it’s less dangerous as long as you are careful of pick-pockets.

The Cumbaya suburb of Quito had one bar: ShotMe. But there were too many people in the line after 10 pm. Plus, it wasn’t even really a line – simply a hoard of guys and girls standing in front “queuing”. Unless you’re a connected regular local, you’ll stand and wait outside the whole night. Entrance fee is $10. Plus, it’s $5+ for a ride there and $5 back.

In front of this club, I noticed the hottest women in Quito. Some would say the local girls in Cumbaya can be snobbish. But this is only the girls’ way of weeding out “the losers” (to find the winners). With “losers” I’m referring to guys who don’t care to look good. Who play way too much video games. And who have hamburger, pizza and soda diets. Plus often lazy far-left life views.

I investigated and found another nightlife clubbing area above Mariscal – at Gonzalez Suarez street. There were hotter girls but it was less busy, and with no tourists. The entrance fee is around $15 each for the three or so clubs – plus you should expect highly inflated alcohol prices as well. What I didn’t like about this area is that it’s risky paying a high entrance fee, when as a foreigner, you have no idea what to expect inside. Outside there were barely any lines, plus, no way to get a sneak-peek inside before paying. The clubs include La Bipolar, Casino S.A., and Lion Dance Club. The dress code here was almost semi-formal, while smart-casual will do around Plaza Foch.

So in conclusion, weekday nights you’ll be lucky if you find merely one or two cute girls to approach around Plaza Foch. Weekends is a little better, but still, for meeting hot girls, nightlife can be frustratingly quiet.

Online Dating in Ecuador

Online dating (Tinder) had decent potential in larger Ecuadorian cities like Quito and Cuenca (with so-so quality). It’s more difficult and time-consuming to organize high-quality dates. There are a lot of guys competing for a few hot girls. And amidst the genuine hot girls, you’ll find a ton of girls pretending to be smoking hot with excessive photo filters and manipulative camera angles. Girls who you otherwise wouldn’t look at twice in cold approach pickup.

Happn (French dating app showing girls who you crossed paths with in real life) was very quiet in Ecuador.

Bumble (app that lets women send the first message) had a few attractive girls. It was the second-best online dating option in Quito.

Once you’re tired of only swiping left or right, check out Latin American Cupid as well. Sign up for free (here’s the link), and if you like what you see, get a subscription. Then go ahead and set up dates with women all over Latin America, including Ecuador (before you even set foot on the country …or continent).

I had an attractive online date on a Thursday around 9 pm, at a bar around the corner of my apartment in Quito (Plaza Foch). She was Colombian. Sexier than most local girls. We got into a hot and steamy make-out session. But she had to leave at some point to get sleep for work the next day, as it was getting late. However, the next night I took a really hot Ecuadorian girl home from nightgame (field report below).

With online dating, make sure the girl is as hot as her pics by adding her to e.g. Facebook first (or ask for more pics on WhatsApp). Generally, Ecuadorian girls don’t look very Western, but at the same time, they use filters to appear as attractive as the actresses they see on TV and movies. I’d prefer if they embraced their indigenous way of dressing (and looking) – which I feel can be sexy when the girl is fit. Instead, the girls put on heavy make-up and superficial second-rate western clothing styles to try fit into a foreign culture.

As a whole, Ecuador is the worst place in the world, which I’ve yet visited, where girls simply don’t look like their photos. Often way too filter obsessed.

Ecuadorian Women

Ecuadorian girls can be feisty. In a way subtly demanding: Do you like me or not? – if yes, they treat you well, you’ll notice their passion, the sex will be good, they’ll be super-friendly. Otherwise, if you don’t reciprocate her attraction, the girl will gradually be colder towards you.

Local women are as short as Peruvian girls, with black hair and brown eyes. Yet they are generally more dark-skinned in appearance (brown, not black).

I found Southern Peruvian (e.g. Arequipa) women more attractive than Ecuadorian girls. I’ve never visited Northern Peru – but perhaps those girls are not too different from Ecuadorian women.

The Mestizas in Ecuador can be attractive here or there. These girls have mixed European and Indigenous background. Yet, in my own experience, the sexiest Ecuadorian girls are outside of Ecuador. These expat girls have a difficult time with e.g. uneducated Ecuadorian guys cat-calling on them, petty crime, and the bad economy. They are more intelligent, thus have decent careers, and can afford to live abroad or travel. Don’t make any definite conclusions about Ecuadorian women through the expat girls you meet outside of the country. Because you’ll only meet the top 5% outside of Ecuador.

Many girls in Quito who are in the late-20s or early 30s are single mothers. These girls are feminine and want to fulfill their biological roles. Still, they’re not as conservative that they’d necessarily stay married for beyond five to ten years.

The girls in Quito have very good English – amongst the best in Latin America. For dating, you don’t need Spanish in this city (especially if you go for the educated women).

Conclusion – Quito Women

Avoid wasting a lot of time in Quito. You can see the whole city in three days easily. For game, it’s probably my least favorite South American Capital. If you don’t believe me, go there and find out yourself.

The following complementary field report will give you a great oversight of nightlife in Quito:

The Ecuadorian Girl at Plaza Foch (Quito Nightgame Field Report)

The Tinder Escape Act

So I had a tinder date at Plaza Foch first, at around 8h30pm. She shows up but wasn’t as hot as her pics. I could tell she was using over-flattering filters. NOT fair to me, and it wouldn’t be fair to her to waste her time on a date if I’m not interested at all. So I excuse myself five minutes after meeting. I tell her: “I don’t think the date will go anywhere, and I don’t feel we are each other’s type.”

Honesty is rare on a one-on-one level in society (although cyber trolling is easy whenever it’s not a face-to-face situation).

Dirty Sanchez

Right after excusing myself, I go to Dirty Sanchez bar, simply to check it out. I notice that it’s small, with only a few people. But I see a girl looking at me… She’s sitting with 2 other girls. I ask her if she’s British, and open: “You look like you are from London”. Because, for an Ecuadorian girl, she had a white skin complexion. I genuinely thought she was a tourist from the UK. She tells me “no, I’m an Ecuadorian local girl”.

Then I ask about her plans for the night, and if she’ll also check out Bungalow. She doesn’t know anything about Bungalow. I explain “its a club for gringos”.

Meanwhile, it feels a little awkward with her two friends simply sitting there. I could’ve joined their table, but this was my first Friday in Quito with nightlife. So I really wanted to see the city, instead of immediately sitting there with her friends. Thus, I take a risk and ask her phone number. If she’s into me, we could always meet up later that night again. It was a smart move.

Cumbaya

After walking around in Plaza Foch a bit more, I take a taxi to Cumbaya. At this point of the night, the rest of the Mariscal nightlife area is still empty and quiet. Plus, I have high expectations for Cumbaya. When I arrive at its main square, it looks like another world. The tiny town-center looks as First world as Spain.

I notice 2 or 3 nice upmarket bars and restaurants with only a few people inside. But at least there is one busy club, ShotMe. In fact, it’s too busy. The line doesn’t move, there is no line. Everyone simply stands in a large bundle outside, while the bouncer lets in a few regulars before anyone else.

So, I talk with a few girls in line, noticing how they’re slightly more distant and aloof than the girls in Plaza Foch. Still, it looks like it may be a cool place to party if you can get inside.

I couldn’t find anything similar to ShotMe in the rest of Cumbaya. For example, I walk to Mongos Bar, but there’s nothing there. The door-lady follows me around in the bar, which has two floors. I get weirded out by her. She’s probably surprised that someone would actually want to visit her bar because it’s so empty.

Quito Girl Follows Up

Meanwhile, the Ecuadorian girl from Dirty Sanchez texts me… Shes wants to meet up again. So, with Cumbaya having nothing left to offer (that night), I leave back to Quito. While in the taxi, I change my destination to the girl’s house in the historical center. The taxi drops me off around Plaza Independiente. I walk in the pedestrian street, noticing a few small empty bars, and empty streets, with a few sketchy characters hanging around. Quito is relatively safe, but still, the risk of pick-pocketing is large, and you need to be careful as always.

Canelazo Paranoia

When I arrive at her house, she and her friends offer me Canelazo – a famous Ecuadorian alcoholic cinnamon bark drink. But at this point, I’m not sure what it is. Since Quito is right next to Colombia, I’m concerned about my drink being spiked. Thus, like a typical paranoid traveler, I ask her to have a sip first.

She drinks the Canelazo, but I’m not convinced yet. So I suggest we go buy beer around the corner at a late-night shop.

Meanwhile, the friends warmed up to me as well, and weren’t being an “obstacle”. So, I kiss her outside the house. Next, I kiss her inside when the friends are outside.

Then the friends come in.

Eventually, they decide the party is over and they’re going home. The cute girl agrees they should drop us off at Plaza Foch. I suggest we should end the night by partying at Bungalow (“seeding the pull”).

In their car, I remain vigilant for safety, as always, but they’ve won my trust. Mostly through demonstrating that they’re normal Ecuadorians with no Colombian or Venezuelan kidnapping or drink-spiking intentions. And there is a sober designated driver, so I reckon I’ll be O.K.

Back at Foch

Eventually, we arrive at Plaza Foch, I tell the girl we could have a drink in my apartment, instead of buying drinks at Bungalow. She thinks it’s a good idea, and follows me home while we are holding hands. I’m keeping her close and safe in this third world hood with a few vagrants looming around. The doorman at my apartment doesn’t give us problems, so we walk upstairs.

Once inside, the girl gives a bit of LMR. I simply tell her I’m as O.K. with not having sex… It really doesn’t matter to me. Thus, she feels no pressure, and is completely comfortable with going all the way. Plus, she has now demonstrated that she is not “easy” by first giving me a bit of token resistance.

Great. So together we go to the bedroom. She spontaneously asks if I have protection. I respond: “yes”… Clothes fly off and we consummate with consent. With her cute face and thin sexy body, hotter than anything I would’ve found with an online dating app that night.

It’s Not Luck

In Quito, finding an attractive girl to hook up with isn’t the easiest task… But by putting the intent out there, while also putting myself out there, including with online dating apps, I made this pull happen. Even while partying in the worst country for seduction in South America, luck has nothing to do with it.

Meeting Women in the Rest of Ecuador

Mainland Ecuador was mostly a repeat of what I experienced in Quito. The only difference is in some places there’ll be a handful more cute tourist girls.

Baños

Baños is a small tourist town famous for adventure sport. There are a few hot female backpackers during the daytime, more than in Quito (which is nice).

However, nightgame was bad with very little going on. The small, relatively quiet, nightlife street is Eloy Alfaro with e.g. Leprechaun bar or Volcan Disco.

Conclusion: Baños is only really for those who are looking for an adrenaline rush and some adventure with e.g. white-water rafting.

Cuenca

Cuenca is an expat paradise for those older than 50+. Younger travelers will get bored here. Nightlife is bad, as with the rest of Ecuador. Similar to Quito, there’s some potential for online dating.

Cuenca has very clean, tranquil, colonial streets in the daytime. There’s even a new tram transport system. It’s also quite cheap with good affordable food and inexpensive accommodation. However, at night, it’s pretty much a third world city, unless you’d like to join Grandfather at one of the upmarket expat bars next to the river.

I stayed in a $15 private room in Calle Larga at Selina Hostel. Larga street is also the center of nightlife in Cuenca. There are many sit-down expat bars below Selina next to the river (to the right as you walk down the steps). However, for clubbing you could go to discoteca Nidia Fuzzion Party. I have to mention, quality is NOT high. Thus I didn’t even go inside.

A better option is the nightlife square around 10 to 15 minutes walking away, below the river. There are clubs like ONIS and Lola’s (Merchan Street intersection with Florencia Astudillo Street). Entrance is around $10. It is a more educated well-off crowd, but still, like in the rest of Ecuador, the girls were not my type. You’ll notice only one or two really hot girls in Cuenca’s nightlife, however, they’ll have boyfriends with them.

Guayaquil

Guayaquil is the worst shit-hole large city I’ve ever been to in South America. It’s also the largest city in Ecuador. Trash is openly dumped on the streets. Customer service is not so good since locals are barely used to tourists. Nightlife in the city center is bad unless you’d like a quiet sit-down bar with your girlfriend in Las Penas. Daytime I didn’t find any girls that I wanted to approach. You could go for a walk along the Malecon or in Las Penas, or see the Iguana park, otherwise, don’t waste time here.

Montañita

Montañita is a tiny coastal shithole village. However, if you are in your early 20’s, you may enjoy the chilled backpacker vibe with nothing really going on, except weekend clubbing at e.g. Lost Beach Club. Or lying on the half-empty beaches during the week. You could smoke marijuana rather openly. But if you’re not into drugs, there’s not much on offer. As in Banos, you’ll stumble upon a handful of cute tourist girls in the daytime. Montanita is maybe nicer at peak-season in Summer.

Galapagos Islands

Galapagos was a bit of a relief from mainland Ecuador. There are more cute tourist girls. But still, very sporadically. Only the main island town of Santa Cruz, Puerto Ayora, has any nightlife. The main expat bar, “Bongo”, gets busy at midnight with mostly tourists. While there are a few more clubs like Neptunus Blue for locals. Or Santa Cruz Brewery across the road, facing the sea, is decent but it was less busy than Bongo. Of course, busy in Galapagos would still qualify as half-empty in almost any other place.

With daygame, here and there you’ll meet a cute tourist girl. Online, also here and there one or two cute girls. Sometimes you swipe a girl on another island, but she travels from island to island, so keep her as a match until you’re at the same place.

There is no internet on Galapagos, apart from being able to use basic apps like Telegram, Tinder and Whatsapp with the faint wifi signal. Thus its a bad place for digital nomads, its only good for short term tourism. Don’t stay more than 10 days as it gets repetitive, and the excursions plus restaurants, food, and drinks are very expensive. Maybe they deliberately keep the internet signal very slow, to discourage tourists and backpackers from staying longer. They kinda want you to simply come for a quick stay, spend as much cash as possible (potentially empty your bank account), then leave again. Plus, they want to attract rich tourists, not scruffy backpackers. Thus excursions have set prices that are sometimes out of proportion high. E.g. $150 to go on a boat with 9 other tourists, snorkeling, and taking a few pics, then return later in the day.

$1500 revenue to the tour company for a day’s work – not bad (i.e. ripping off tourists).

Moreover, before even setting foot on the island, you have to pay $120 as a tourist tax. Still, if you have money to spend, it’s a nice place to come for a week and experience this open-air marine nature reserve.

Other Towns

Two more towns I’d consider, which I didn’t visit this time: Salinas is the most alluring beach town in Ecuador where the cool people go (more developed than Montanita). While Tena is a less touristic (thus potentially more authentic Ecuadorian) adventure alternative to Banos.

Ecuador Women Conclusion

Ecuador is the worst country I’ve ever been to for nightlife, apart from Arabic countries where there is also not much clubbing culture. Plus, definitely one of the worst for daygame. In total, for seduction, it’s probably even worse than Bolivia. Thus, Ecuador is my least favorite seduction destination in South America.

However, it’s great for adventure, interesting food, and exploring nature at Galapagos or the Amazon.

It truly feels like I’m torn in two while in Ecuador.

For game and seduction, I really don’t wanna be there, at all. But for adventure, nature, and regional food, it’s one of the best (and one of my favorite) countries in the world.

Go figure that out.

Have you ever been to Ecuador? Where in Ecuador would you most like to visit (or return to)? Post your tips or questions below for other love tourists on meeting Ecuadorian women.

Although English is widely spoken in Quito, for the rest of mainland Ecuador, basic Spanish will be very useful. Pickup Spanish is the player’s way of mastering the main language of Latin America: Here’s the link to check it out.

  1. Ecuador has had a US Dollar as its currency since 1999. It is also a member of OPEC, its the 26th largest producer of petroleum in the world. If you are gonna give historical or economic analysis at least base it on facts

    • I am aware that Ecuador does produce a little oil. As we know, Ecuador pollutes the Amazon jungle by drilling oil in fragile eco-systems.

Argentina is, for example, the 27th largest producer of oil. While Romania the 28th… Who would imagine that even Romania produces oil. But few people know or care about these small-time oil producers. They care more about Venezuela, the 11th biggest oil producer, and of course, the top 10 of oil production, including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, etc.

  2. What a terrible thing to say about this country… If you can not say anything that is constructive please DO NOT WRITE AT ALL.
Who are you by the way?? Brad Pitt??? I bet you are sooo ugly from the inside and outside that you were not able to meet any girl at all.

    • Did you not see the nice things I wrote about Ecuador? For example, I said its one of the best places in the world for seeing nature, adventure & interesting regional food.
But you only mention the few negative points in the article.

  3. I find ecuadorian women attractive, but not the indigenous looking ones. I like the mestiza ones and the white looking ones. Bolivia and Guatemala are the ugliest in not only Latin America but the world.

    • I’ve never been to Guatamala,
but I find Bolivian women still hotter than women from e.g. Nigeria, Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and most African countries.

But I agree that generally by Latin American standards, Bolivian girls aren’t that hot. Although there’s exceptions here & there.

With regards to Ecuador, yeah everyone has their own preference.

E.g. I was traveling for a while with an Australian couple whose white son married an indigenous Ecuadorian jungle girl.

So, yes, depends on your preference.

    • Hi thanks for the comments.

Depends what you want: Beach game, online dating, night game or daygame?

But for now I’ll tell you this: The cities that are famous are famous for a reason.

This can be Medellin, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires (not for permanent living – only for visiting), Cusco (love the hiking, culture, cute Andean women), Florianopolis – Nice Lifestyle…

  5. I ran into this blog. What an absolute loser. I’m sure there’s a good reason why a simpleton like you garners any interest outside the 3rd world

    • Taking control of your dating life is the most masculine, “winner” and action-taking thing that you can possibly do (as a man).

Thus, you surely must be gay, trans, or a feminist. Or are you simply dickless?

May you have better luck reading other blogs, Dildo.
