Arequipa is the second largest city in Peru, known for outdoor adventure activities such as trekking the Colca Canyon, and climbing up Misty Volcano. My original travel plan was to get a cheap flight from Lima to Cusco. Yet when I found out about PeruHop bus service, I took the scenic road to Machu Picchu instead, via Arequipa. This encompassed a long journey, spending a night in Paracas, two fun days in the Huacachina desert oasis, and next stop Arequipa.
Typical of Peruvian women, the girls in Arequipa are generally very short in height. Yet, they can still definitely be sexy. A lot of the women have mixed European and indigenous ancestry. It’s not the place to come looking specifically for the hottest girls in the world. But for an unusual travel experience in a place slightly off the beaten track, you should visit Arequipa if you are traveling in Peru. A further bonus is the low cost of living.

Nightlife in Central Arequipa (AQP)
To do some Nightgame, La Casona Forum is the place to be. It has four dance floors and can get quite full on weekends. You get free entry with a Wild Rover wristband, otherwise you gotta pay up. So do what I did: Stay two nights in Wild Rover Hostel, get the wristband, AND NEVER TAKE IT OFF for as long as you are in Arequipa. I left to a better hostel after 2 nights, but still got free entry to the clubs with my wristband. This was before midnight (at about 11h45pm) right before it gets busy. So you might have to verify if you can also get in free after midnight. (2021 update: Casona Forum is listed as “permanently closed” on the maps app)
Deja Vu is the second best option for partying. But it’s smaller, and the top dance floor is very loud. There weren’t too many girls inside to approach in any case. Deja Vu also lets you in for free with a Wild Rover wristband (seemingly even after midnight). There are a few more clubs in this street (Calle San Francisco) that you can check out (which you will easily notice while walking past). It’s THE nightlife street of central Arequipa. And if you’re a tourist, it’s your best bet. Away from the center, you’ll find the nightclubs where only locals party, but you’ll need a taxi to check ’em out.
Hostel game
If you’re looking to hookup in your hostel itself, then staying at Wild Rover is a good option. In this hostel it’s 100% o.k. if you have a one night stand in your dorm bed. Sex-positivity runs very strong with Wild Rover, which is great, as long as you don’t bring in girls (or fleas) from outside.
The best strategy is to befriend the girls in the day, then at night party with them, and you’ll be the automatic choice to hook up with. Furthermore, cocaine is huge in these circles, so if you sniff coke with these girls, you’ll build a stronger connection. On my side, I’m pretty much straight edge, so this is never my game plan. The suggestion would be simply to hang out in the social circles which don’t use cocaine and achieve the same results. Moreover, Wild Rover’s bar is a cool place for night-game, and pre-game before you head out to Casona.
If you want to do more adventure activities, while having a great kitchen, and an overall chill-out vibe, then Arequipay Backpackers is the best place to stay. But simply for partying and hooking up, Wild Rover is definitely the place to go.
Arequipa Daygame and Online Game
Daygame isn’t that great in Arequipa, depending on what type of girls you prefer. The streets around Plaza de Armas is the best place for day-game (to meet a few local girls and here and there a tourist). I did do some approaches in this area, but prefered the nightgame in this city.
Online game was not as good as in Lima. There isn’t as large a pool of women in Arequipa. Still, Tinder was decent. Moreover, I’m in a few Latin American travel groups, and many guys are hooking up with girls through LatinAmerican Cupid (check it out here),
Field Report: Arequipa Nightgame Success
In Arequipa, I went to Casona Forum, the largest club in the center of the city. I saw a girl standing next to the dance floor. Waiting for her friends. She looked like an angel who eloped and flew down to earth. Wanting to experience the earthly pleasures for a fortnight before returning to heaven. She was talkative, bubbly and pure – like the premium carbonated mineral water which I was holding in my left hand.
I hooked her easily because there was sexual attraction both ways. Or maybe it was she who hooked me, who knows? If the girl finds you attractive, you don’t need that much game. Sometimes we waste time “gaming” girls that are barely interested. Thinking that if we reward her disinterest it’ll magically turn into “interest”. As an alternative, you could easily meet someone else that would give you very little resistance, while being super-hot at the same time.
The Mating Dance
So… we had a beer together. Danced a little. She showed me some Latin-American dance moves, and I showed her how we dance in Cape Town. At first, she resisted my kiss. Simply giving me a peck on my lips. But gradually, as I built comfort with her, I gave her tongue and she reciprocated.
Angels usually like to be in a small group or crowd. And this one was there with her friends. She introduced me to them, but they barely spoke English. I like to do the rounds with the girl I’m with. To check out the club we’re at, and get some positive energy going. As the saying goes – motion creates emotion.
So, I wandered off with her, danced and kissed a little more, and then returned to her friends. They wanted to go to another dance floor. We followed them, but the room was super loud and noisy. I suggested to my girl that we should go somewhere quieter, and so we went to the top floor. We found a couch in the corner of the room, cuddled and I felt her ass up over her jeans.
Logistics [Fail]
At some point, we noticed it was getting late, and so we went looking for her friends. They left and took her purse and coat with them. Thus she wanted to go to her friend’s house to get her belongings. She didn’t have good logistics for the night, and neither did I, so I simply got her WhatsApp number and said goodbye. Meanwhile, the insect bites from the dingy bus ride to Arequipa was killing my legs.
The next day I hit her up, to test her interest level. She was keen to see me again. I told her we should watch a movie together, to seed the idea of sex subtly into her mind. Problem – I was staying in a hostel. So I told her to meet me at Plaza de Armas, in the center of town, and that we’ll decide what to do from there. Later that day, I went to the pharmacy to get some anti-histamine to help blast away the itch on my legs.
Day 2
I arrived at about 8pm in the main square. She was a little late. While waiting for her, I take out my phone app and look for a hotel nearby. I find the perfect hotel 50 meters away, at a reasonable price. She arrives at about 8h15pm with a taxi. We sit and cuddle for 15 minutes on the bench in the park. Then I tell her: “There’s a really nice hotel over there” while pointing with my finger, “let’s go chill there instead”. She’s all in. Vamos. I had my passport with me, so I didn’t have to pay the extra 18% tax they force the locals to pay (tourists for less than 60 days do not pay the “hotel tax”).
Next, we make some coca tea in the lobby and take it to our room. Once in the room, we put on the television and drink tea for ten minutes before we start kissing heavily. The clothes fly off, and we consummate the relationship [– explicit details censored].
After a couple of hours, it was getting late. So she gets dressed and gets a cab ride home. I decide to sleep in the hotel room. At least I can be certain there won’t be any more mosquito and insect bites in this trendy hotel. A reminder to always wear long pants on bus rides instead of shorts. Insects can’t bite through jeans. The next morning I get a nice hotel breakfast, included in the price, and walk the 15 minutes to my hostel. Laycount +1. Life is good.
