The Nice Guy’s Guide to Meeting Women in Belgrade, Serbia

Belgrade is somewhat off the tourist radar, and not as popular as Scandinavia, Berlin, Paris, and Amsterdam. Yet, if you visit, you won’t be disappointed by the attractive Serbian girls walking around all day in Summer. However, it’s not a good night-game destination.

Nightgame in Belgrade

Pre-game

To begin the night, you can go to the seated bar-restaurant area at Skadarlija, with for example the Red Bar. However, this is more for getting food and pre-drinks, and not really for pickup. Also check out the hidden square, which was quite hard to find initially, for a few more options. I only stumbled upon this the last night before I left. It’s behind Red Bar, only accessible through Cetinjska Street.

The Splavs

Next, go to the Splavs. These are floating boat clubs on the Sava River. Walk from Savamala, across the “Brankov most” bridge. The Splavs are the boats on your right-hand side, immediately after you cross the bridge. There are a few other Splavs but these are the main ones. In Winter, some of the Splavs close down, and those parties move to the city in buildings instead. Similarly, the city clubs are closed in the Summer when the Splavs are open.

The Splavs are very touristic (which is not great, it’s like a “tourist trap”). I paid 500 Serbian Dinar to get inside Tag Splav. Once inside, there’s only one large room, a bad gender ratio, and the noise levels are maxed out. After Tag I went to Freestyler Splav. There was no entrance fee but its similar to Tag inside, with easily 80% guys and 20% girls.

So the females have the upper hand in these clubs. While 5 men would compete for 1 girl. These girls are mostly unfriendly, even the unattractive girls have high “bitch-shields”. (Thus it’s probably the opposite of the women in e.g. Helsinki). Plus, there are the women with silicone lips who are only looking for a rich guy with money to throw around.

If you approach a girl in a group with males, the guys will look at you strangely: “Who is this guy and what does he want?” But its very subtle, like they are disapproving, but still not completely intolerant. The local guys didn’t seem like they would get aggressive unless you are drunk and provoke them. The women mostly stay in their social circles. And they go home much earlier than the men.

You can still sporadically do a few approaches outside the Splavs.

In conclusion, don’t visit Belgrade for the nightlife. At night, it’s mostly a “social circle game” city. (Disclaimer: I visited Belgrade during the Summer, and thus this post is not a complete verdict on the Winter nightlife.)

Daygame

Daygame was great. There are beautiful Serbian women all around by day. Plus, Belgrade is a safe city, still unfettered by the vices of globalism. The pedestrian street, Knez Mihailova, is the highlight. Yet wherever you walk in Belgrade you’ll find daygame potential.

I did check out New Belgrade as well, but it’s purely residential and industrial. There’s nothing to see apart from maybe checking out the shopping malls. In addition, more than one source recommended Ada Ciganlija, which is a swimming lake for the summer.

I wouldn’t say that the girls are easy. They hold back their true feelings. It is like they are trying to conform to the social pressure – not giving out their numbers too easily unless you make a strong impression. Still, you’ll have a good time.

Online Dating in Belgrade

I got the flag from online (Tinder). The girl was a little inhibited like the other Serbian girls, but still opened up sexually reasonably quick on the night we met. There wasn’t a huge amount of women to swipe in the heart of the city (Old Belgrade). I got good matches but ran out of women within a 5km radius after four or five days. So I had to increase my radius, which becomes slightly more challenging to organize a date.

Dates over here would occur in a public place. However, the fact that women weren’t keen on coming directly to the apartment, didn’t really matter that much. Since if she agrees to meet at a bar in Belgrade, she’s very likely to go home with you afterward anyway.

If you have a hard time with the local Serbian girls on Tinder, there is the option of dating an expat girl (which I also did). In this case, the personality of the girl will largely depend on which country she is from.

Another dating app in Belgrade which I’ve seen mentioned somewhere else is Badoo. However, they put a fraudulent payment through on my credit card when I gave the app a brief shot (even though I paid with Paypal). Thus avoid Badoo at all costs (many negative reviews online suggest that Badoo is mostly a scam).

Rather check out Victoria Milan if you want to take a break from Tinder dating in Belgrade. Its not totally free to use, but since the girl is also paying a subscription fee, you’ll get more serious dating prospects. It’s specifically good for meeting European women.

To conclude, Online is the easiest form of game in Belgrade. Daygame gets second place, and Nightgame last.

Belgrade Women

As I mentioned above, Serbian women tend to be more reserved, with higher “bitch-shields” than in other places. Moreover, they tend to have darker hair and there are fewer blonds. Most of them stay in shape pretty well. The average height is around 1.65m to 1.7m. 90% of them speak English. The only women that genuinely didn’t speak English were the older cashiers at the grocery stores.

Some of the younger Serbian girls (below 30) are among the most attractive in Europe. However, I’m not crazy about all the older girls (between 30 and 40). They look less Western and more Eastern European. If I had to choose, I’d rather have a relationship with an older girl from Western Europe. Nevertheless, in general, for dating, Serbian women are good-looking and they can be fun if there is mutual interest.

Other Tourist Info

Apart from the daygame, the best excursion was visiting the Tesla Museum and seeing the surreal lightning bolt of electricity. Moreover, Kalemegdan Park had great views of the Sava and Danube rivers. The best part of the city, where you should definitely stay, is within the peninsula surrounded by these two rivers. This is Old Belgrade. The Sava side (Savamala neighborhood) is the closest to the mediocre nightlife scene, while being pretty good for daygame as well. Thus get a hostel, hotel or apartment in Savamala.

Conclusion

In Belgrade, enjoy the daygame. Plus, since the nightgame isn’t good, you’d have to put a lot of effort into social circle game. This is because Serbian women mostly have sex with men in their social circles. Thus when these girls go to the clubs, it’s not because they are horny and want to meet men. It’s simply a reinforcement and strengthening of their own social circle.

The lack of night game potential means that you’ll spend more time on your career, and have a better sleeping pattern. So, if you love clubbing, don’t live in Belgrade. But if you love daygame in Eastern Europe, then live there. Besides, Belgrade has a low cost of living, and value for money is much higher than in Western Europe.

Belgrade Pubcrawl (2023 Update)

Since the nightgame seems mediocre to outsiders, it makes sense to do a pubcrawl with a local expert while in Belgrade. This guy will show you around and give you the best tips for having a good time at night in this city. This is for those nights that you don’t have any online dates lined up.

Here is the link to check out Belgrade’s number 1 pubcrawl at GetYourGuide. This pubcrawl includes:

  • Free entry to 5 different bars and clubs.
  • 4 free shots and 1 beer/wine.
  • A photographer tags along to capture memories of the night.
  • Great Online Testimonials: “This will be one of your best experiences you’ve had so far. Highly recommended.”

It’s risk-free to reserve a spot, as Getyourguide has a generous “24 hour before it starts” free cancellation policy.

  1. Hei u are so right.I totally agree with u.I have Been i Belgrade aproximately thirty times. I look normal but have big muscles. Women dont talk to u.They just look at u like u are an ailien from another planet. They just behave very arrogant and superior. This is my experience from bars and Clubs in Belgrade. So my advice just go to cafes daytime, save your money and watch Netflix home in the evening.
